SPORTS: Round of 60 (Rewind)
With the round of 32 tipping off today, thought we’d give you an update on the opening round of March Madness. In my opinion the opening round of the NCAA tourney are the most exciting two days in sports. This year definitely held up to expectations. In this years tourney, I think there are 6 clear cut teams who will win the championship this year. Of course we have our #1 seeds and then I see two #2 seeds who could be holding the trophy up at the end of the tourney. Those #2 seeds are Kentucky led by a squad of one and dones per usual (although none are worthy to be named in my opinon) and Michigan led by Charles Matthews and one of the most underrated coaches in basketball, John Beilein. If any other team outside these hoist the trophy it’ll be a major shocker. Without further ado lets recap:
Ja Murant is the truth:
-He’s doing things that only Shaq and D.Wade have done this early in the tourney
-He scored or assisited on 55 of his teams points on Thursday
-I understand that Zion is the sure fire first pick in the NBA Draft but whoever gets the second pick is gonna be ecstatic to have Ja Murant leading their team
three of four #12 seeds pulled off an upset (kinda)
- I don’t really consider Oregon and Murray St. to be upsets, if you watched college ball all season it was pretty easy to fill out that part of your bracket. Liberty beating Mississippi St was more surprising than the others.
Not gonna make this too long but here are some quick hitters:
-Maryland is out next round
-Another early exit for bruce webber and Kansas State
-Izzo and the Spartans were tested early
-Leonard Hamilton and the Seminoles are pretty darn consistent and might give Ja Murant and Murray St. a real challenge
-Matisse Thybulle is NBA ready and might be giving the Tarheels trouble
-Fletcher Magee of Wofford is the love child of JJ Reddick and Jimmer Fredette.
-Zion Williamson is Bo Jackson on a basketball court, just ridiculous
Good luck to you and your brackets, mine was busted pretty early.
